Highgate Tennis Club Membership Renewals 2017

Dear Members

You will shortly be receiving an invoice from the club for the membership year 2017/18 which commences on 1st April.

The club will present its accounts at the AGM on 19th March commencing at 12 noon. The club has had a profitable year with returns from the coaching programme in particular continuing to grow.

In the last year, we invested over £12k on essential building and water-works to the main clubhouse, £3k on Brookside, £3k on benches as well as money to overhaul the sitting area by court 5, now named after Pete Oliver. All the main courts were re-painted.

Whilst the club continues to earn its income from a variety of sources such as tournament fees, coaching and camps, the majority of our net income is from the membership that we all pay on an annual basis, seniors and juniors alike. As our programmes and ambitions expand, there is a need to continue to find ways to make the club as financially stable as possible so that we continue to provide the services you all expect as comprehensively as possible. This includes affording to pay for an administrator and a book-keeper in the future to help with our ever-growing administrative burden!

In addition, our costs have risen by more than the headline rate of inflation.

It is for these reasons that we are asking full adult members to pay a subscription of £320 for the next year (an increase of £10 or 3.2% on last year). This increase will apply to the other categories of subscription which are listed below for information and further detail can be provided from Tracey, our administrator at membership@highgate-tennis.co.uk.

It would be appreciated if members could pay their subscriptions as soon as possible and in any event by 1st April. Members who don’t pay their subs will not be allowed to enter the Wimbledon ticket ballot, the Brookside Tournament or play for the club’s teams. That said if you need a little extra time please let us know.

If you have any concerns or questions regarding the membership policy, please e-mail Richard Tusting (rich.tea99@gmail.com), Jessica Bavinton (tennis.chair.highgate@gmail.com), or Andy Newton (newton_andrew@hotmail.com)

Details of how to pay your subscriptions this year are below.

Best wishes

Jessica Bavinton (HCLTC Tennis Section Chair)
Richard Tusting (HCLTC Chair)
Andy Newton (Hon. Treasurer)
